Measurement - Special Shapes

Arches and Shaped openings

The following instruction will work for any shaped opening

Tape butcher or medium bond papers over the opening. (use removable tape!, hopefully one that does not peel the paint!) Use generous amount of overlap and paper that is NOT creased.

  Trace the outline of the opening on the paper. Take great care to draw the line with dark pencil and on the inside of the opening.

Remove the template from the opening, Write the dimensions of the shape on the template.

Height, width, front, top, name , inside/outside mount and room designation.

  If an outside mount is required, free hand draw the overlap ~2". Label clearly that the template is for an outside mount.

Cut out the template and test its size on the inside of the shape. I.e. the template must fits exactly on all parts of the opening. (remember the opening has depth, test the template out at various depths)

Roll up the template and send the template in a tube to us. (Do not fold the template!!)

If applicable, Choose the location for the tilt and raise controls cords, this is either on the left or right side of each blind.
