Inside-Outside Mount?

Inside Mounting
Outside Mounting
Advantages of inside mount a) Wall space is not taken up by blinds and does not project into room. (fabric treatments are easier to design for.) b) Window frame and molding is exposed. This might be an architectural feature. c) Blinds often look better when set inside a window frame, giving a clean finished appearance. d) On deepset windows, the window will still allow plants or other items to be placed on the window sill.
Advantages of Outside Mount (a) Blinds can be extended above the the window, this will remove the problem of view obstruction by the blinds. (Stacking). The entire window opening will have unobstructed view if so required. (b) The only solution for windows that are not "square". (c) No light gap, light can be completely eliminated when using a blind that is larger than the window opening.
Disadvantages of inside mount (a) There will always be a small light gap on the sides of the blind. This cannot be eliminated. (b) Cannot be used on non " square windows" (c) "Stacking" will always cause and obstruction in the window view. The full window view can never been achieved.
Disadvantages of Outside mount Slightly more difficult to install soft treatments (Fabric). This is not a significant problem.
At the end it is a matter of choice, .........your choice!
