These are not matchstick blinds!. 
They are made from hand cut 1/4" bamboo slats. All the slats are cut by hand with a machete. What most unusual is the fact that slats are arranged on the blind the same manner in which it was cut. We will show you (below) an entire bamboo rod that has been cut into bamboo slats and inserted as is into the blind itself.

The pull cord is down the center (not left or right like normal blinds), and is tied off on a cord cleat at the required height. This style of pull cord is probably the oldest style arrangement in the world. (long before cord lock were invented!!). All blinds come with complete mounting hardware and a solid whole bamboo headrail on the top and bottom of each blind.

These blinds can be used for indoor or outdoor purposes. (outdoor blinds will be varnished). We do not recommend the white canvas edging for outdoor usage. (This is probably our most favorite blind, the primitive look!, they do not have many options but you can't argue with 1200 years of history and experience!)

Notice the lines- Bamboo Nodes! If you had a bamboo pole with nodes (the black lines on the bamboo below) and you sliced the pole into 1/4" vertical slats along the diameter. Then you laid them out flat into a blind, the blind above is what you will get!!. Each of the sets of lines are whole bamboo poles that have been cuts into slats, there are 16 poles visible in the above blind. Now that a work of art!
